Earlier this week, CNN reported the rapper DMX was arrested at a Phoenix mall on suspicion of giving a false name and Social Security number to a hospital to avoid paying medical expenses.
Earl Simmons (aka DMX) was accused of giving false information to the hospital. "Troy Jones" failed to pay his $7,500 bill, and it was not his first run-in with the law. Sheriff Joe Arpaio said his office had conducted an animal neglect investigation last year at the 37-year-old rapper's north Phoenix home--in addition drug possession and animal cruelty.
The musician and actor has had other recent run-ins with the law, including an arrest at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport this month on outstanding warrants after he failed to appear in court.
If DMX remains jailed, the sheriff said, he would be isolated from the rest of the inmates for his own safety. Come on, Joe, his music's not THAT bad...
